2003 CBR 600RR First report - I've got about 700 miles on the bike so far. The thing I like most about it is the handling. It's real light, very easy to turn. Maybe too easy. I stiffened the forks a little and it seems to have helped. I have my eye on new springs though, I'll know more after having it on the track. It hauls ass around the back roads but it takes a while to spool up to fun RPM's. When you finally get up to fun RPM's it's going loss-of-license fast. So in this regard it's not the best street bike. On the freeway it's too buzzy and you have to click down to 3rd before you get any torque. But, on back roads it's effortless to throw around. There is no throwing really it just automatically turns for you. It doesn't feel rock-solid like the 996 but little else does. I have an idea to put frame sliders on it and get rid of the rear mud gaurd. Aftermarket pipes are pretty inexpensive and don't require FI changes but I think I'll keep with the stocker for a while. Tires feel great so far but I've always liked Dunlops best. I'll probably run the street tires for the first track day too.
