It's almost August and we're preparing the final stages of the wedding. Shane and Sarah's weddingis coming up very soon, as is the Vegas bachelor trip. If we come back alive I'll write about it here.We have selected all of our vendors and have contracts with them, now we need to come up with the $$!
In the next week we need to book the trip, find a car, pick my tuxedo, find gifts, mail invites,alter the dress, dye shoes (?), finalize the registry, and a million other odds n' ends. Oh yeah,we need to finalize the menu for the reception.
This Saturday is the Engagement Beach Party, thrown by none other than Donene, Amazing Party Woman(aka Laurel's Mom.)Surprises are planned, my guess is they'll be embarrassing.
In addition to the wedding and honeymoon Laurel and I are buying a house! We are in negotiation rightnow, I'll write more when I know more. I fear telling too much now will jinx the deal.
We moved!
We finally did it! All of our stuff is in boxes, but we now live in a house instead of a cracker box.
The Beach Party was embarrassing, as promised. Laurel had to dress up in a pink wedding dress.I had to dress up as 60's Dude, with bell-bottoms and a tacky jacket. The theme was "tacky." What's funny is most of my costume was my own stuff. We had a GREAT time and it was fun to see everybody.I have pictures from it I need to scan.
The Vegas trip was great! We survived somehow. Most of use woke up sticky, broke and confused but that'swhat Las Vegas is all about. I have some photos to put up once I get around to scanning them.
Laurel and I think we've picked out a place to stay in Jamaica, but we don't have a clue on the BritishVirgin Islands. Guess we'll play it by ear. I do my last try-ons for my tux this weekend, sometime afterthe Gillispie wedding on Saturday. On Sunday I'll probably be experiencing some deep hurting. I'll tryto take it easy at the wedding (yeah, right.) The invites are here and should be mailed out real soon. Morenews as events warrant...
It's done! Photos & web pages to follow. Here's a quick update on the Laurel & Greg wedding and fiesta. The tuxedos have been ordered and I've been sized. I bought a vest for myself, and I already have tux shoes. You'd think I have style or something. The honeymoon is booked - a week at the Bitter End Yaght Club in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, followed by almost a week on a chartered 55' sailboat. The invites have been (mostly) mailed. They went out in three batches, some still need to go. At any rate they're almost done. Laurel's shower is tomorrow (Sunday), meanwhile here Grandma is in town for Saturday. I'll be at Mike Servais' bachelor party / golf fest. Woo-hoo! We have the menu finalized, the car done. We need to reserve our honeymoon suite, site TBA, and also get limos for the ladies to ride to the wedding from the salon on Lake Union. One more major to take care of - the Halloween party boat / bachelor-bachelorette extravagaanza. Meanwhile, work is the busiest ever and the Husky season has finally arrived! Life is good.
